FORLAB Ham's F-12 and F12K Cell Culture Medium
Ham's F-12 medium was designed for serum-free single cell spreading of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. Since then, F-12 has been used for serum-free growth of CHO cultures as well as serum-added growth of other mammalian cells, including chondrocytes and rat prostate epithelial cells. It is particularly suitable for single-cell and clonogenic cultures at low serum levels and is also widely used for the culture of cancer cells and primary cells, such as rat hepatocytes, rat prostate epithelial cells, chondrocytes, rat myoblasts, and chicken embryonic cells, when serum is added. In addition, Ham's F-12 is mixed with DMEM in equal volume to obtain a more nutritious DMEM/F12 medium, which is more widely used.

Ham's F-12K medium is based on Ham's F-12 with an increased concentration of amino acids and pyruvate, a reduced amount of glucose, and a modified salt composition and content (Konigsbergs). Ham's F-12K medium is used for the cultivation of primary human hepatocytes as well as differentiated rat and chicken cells.
It contains many amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other ingredients required for the culture of many types of cells, but does not contain proteins, lipids, or any growth factors; therefore, this product should be used with serum or serum-free additives.FORLAB Ham's F-12 Medium
