FORLAB MEM Cell Culture Media
MEM is one of the most commonly used cell culture media, also known as the minimum essential medium, and the most widely used. containing only 12 essential amino acids, glutamine, and 8 vitamins, MEM medium is a simple medium mainly used for the culture of adherent cells, but can be modified for other types of cell cultures. it can be used for the cultivation of a wide range of suspended and adherent mammalian cells, including HeLa, BHK-21, 293, HEP-2, HT-1080, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and primary rat astrocytes.
MEM α is a modified MEM medium that is more nutrient-rich than MEM medium.MEM α medium is widely used for mammalian cell culture and screening of transfected DHFR-negative cells.MEM α can be used for a wide range of suspended and adherent mammalian cells, including keratinocytes, primary rat astrocyt,es and human melanoma cells.
MEM α contains amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other components required for cell culture but does not contain proteins, lipids, or any growth factors; therefore, this product should be used with serum or serum-free additives.
